English Speaking World

 Hiya!

Do you know why are we celebrating Book's Day on the 23rd April?

William Shakespeare died on that date (1616) and Miguel de Cervantes on the previous day.

Shakespeare is the best- known English writer of all times, and he actually made up many words we use nowadays.

But, have you ever wondered why is English so important?, why do we have to learn it?, and why do adults want kids to study it and get better at it?

Well, English is the most popular and spoken language in the World, 1.130 millions speak it (only 379 millions are native speakers!).

Do you want to know more about the language, the countries where it is spoken and their accents?

Try this cool genially.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Hello everyone!

Today is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
Women and girls have only recently been considered are relevant in certain areas and matters, but many women changed the world with their discoveries, and some even risked their lives for Science: Marie Curies, Rosalind Franklin, Ada Lovelace, Elisabeth Blackwell, or Jane Godall.

One of my personal favorite women scientists is anthopologist, conservationist and primatologist Jane Goodall.
Her discoveries changed the way in which we see chimps, and also the way we humans differentiate from them. Let's learn a bit about her:

She gives speeches and meet people around the world to talk about the chimpanzees. She even meet kids like you many times!

And she writes books!

And some people write books about her and her life as well:

Such an inspiration!
